Automobile electrical & Electronics Systems

Introduction to basic electrical and electronics

Introduction

Automobiles have made sufficient progress during there years.Electricity plays an important role in an automobile.A car may be thought of as a large electrical system on wheels because lots of electricity is required for starting or running of vehicles. If there was no electricity and electrical devices there would have been no such automobiles as we have it today.
Many jobs in an automobiles are facilitated by electricity.Electricity is required for :
  1.  Starting of engines.
  2.  Fuel ignition through spark plug.
  3.  Various lights and indicators.
  4.  Windscreen-wipers.
  5.  Power steering and power window.
  6.  Fuel-feed pump.
  7.  Various gauges such as fuel gauge, temperature gauge, oil gauge
  8.  Speedometer and odometer.
  9.  Heater.
10.  Illumination of instrument panel
11.  Horn,
12.  Air condition
13.  safety bugger
14.  Cigrette lighter, ratio, fan etc.
15.  Power hood convertible, mobile phone charging and power-seats.

AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The auto electrical system has various electrical equipment and wires and serve the following purposes :
1. To generate the electrical for charging of battery.
2. To supply current to starting motor for cranking
3. To charge the battery and supply the current to various units of an automobile
4. To supply current to the lighting system for operation of head lights, brake lights, flashers, fog lights,            dippers, direction indicators etc.
5. To supply current to the ignition coil for fuel ignition in petrol engine
6. To supply current to horn, wipers, meters, gauges and dash board instruments layout of automotive electrical system :
The lay out of an electrical system various widely for different types of vehicles. It is different for two- wheelers and four-wheelers. The layout for a luxury-car is more complicated. A typical layout is   shown in fig. The layout has various equipment, meter, gauges, lamps, lights, and other items connected with wires
